Senior IT Quality Assurance Technologist

This position offers a base salary range of $69,564 - $115,940 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus based on company performance.

Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. This person is responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan; executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. This position is responsible for expert level software/hardware testing, provides assistance and support to junior members of the team. Assignments are processed independently with a wide range of latitude for corrections and process changes. Collaborate with cross functional teams for testing and rollout of software solutions.

1. Observes computer monitor screen during program test to detect error codes or interruption of program and corrects errors. Develops the proper error correction procedures with developers and vendors, documents and distributes error handling procedures.
2. Conducts compatibility tests with provided software, both manually and with automated testing tools. Works with Business owners to develop test plans and create test reports to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction
3. Document software defects and errors, using documentation reporting procedures (Rally, Service Desk, others) to report defects to software developers and project managers
4. Provide timely updates and elevate critical risks to the Quality Assurance Unit Supervisor. Monitors bug resolution efforts and track successes. Validates error handling procedures. Provide technical advice and counsel to management and to less experienced discipline personnel
5. Operate and maintain test labs. Develops various set-up scripts and procedures as needed for LAB set-up and initial configuration as part of LAB Prep Work.
6. Possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite , Web Browsers and Sheetz Specific Software, is able to provide technical advice and counsel to less experienced IT admin Quality Assurance personnel. Develops testing scripts and plans as required and is experienced with all of the tools sets used in QA functions.
7. Review product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable. Consult with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of overall system.
8. Define test methods and create test plans for new or updated software projects to determine if the software will perform accurately and reliably according to documented requirements as well as established standards under both normal and abnormal conditions
9. Facilitate teams that may include peer-level professionals, specialized technicians, managers, contractors, consultants and/or customers. Provide mentoring / coaching to junior Project Services staff
10. Provide evening and weekend support as needed. Sheetz is open 24/7/365 and as such, our internal and external customers may require our QA support at any time.

Education
• A four year degree which includes courses or training in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering, is required.
• A four year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering is preferred.

Experience
• 7 years of applicable experience in a technology environment, to include:

• 3 years of experience in Software Testing

• Experience with Agile Concepts and/or Automated Testing TECHNIQUES is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications
• Quality Assurance Worldwide – Software certification is preferred
